Great day to be a Gator hater
There are quite a few teams that I despise. When it comes to college sports - there are three teams that I have a passionate hatred for more than any others. Those schools are the Carolina Tar Heels, Florida State Seminoles, and the Florida Gators. UNC and Florida fans are the most obnoxious fans on the planet.
With that in mind, when the Florida Gators have a bad day - it makes me very happy. I know it might not seem too pastor like to rejoice in another persons agony, but it brings me great joy to know that the Gator nation will be crying themselves to sleep at the news of the departure of Billy Donovan.
Farewell Billy! Who can blame you for leaving Gainesville?
No commentsI flew into Atlanta earlier today to begin another week of meetings and to continue the search for office space.
I am excited about meeting the pastors in this area and to hear their heart to reach this community. I am going to try and meet with as many of these guys as possible over the next several days. It should be a fun experience.
Looking forward to building relationships and learning from these guys.

It is unbelievable how much stuff you accumulate over the course of time. For the past three days I have been going through boxes in the attic and garage to see what will make the cut for the move.
We have either sold, given, or thrown away a ton of stuff in the past few weeks. The next few days will be no different. I am not a packrat. As a result, I will be the guy driving down the road with random things hanging out of my windows as I drive to the dump.

I am going to be flying back into Atlanta on Thursday to try and meet with as many of the local pastors in Acworth as possible. I am excited about meeting them, hearing their heart, and finding out how we can partner to reach that city.
I am also taking an entire day to just hang out with Devin. It is hard to do that very often with everything going on, but it is long overdue. Can’t wait!

Barring any weird surprises, it appears that our house in Millington has sold! Looks like we will close at the end of June. Dan Craddock is the man!
Knowing that the house is gone will allow us to be in Acworth quite a bit over the course of the next month before we officially make the move.

Today was a pretty busy day…
1. Flew from Atlanta to Memphis
2. Went to Life Church Of Memphis…Great music, message, and atmosphere.
3. Drank a strange drink at Arby’s with icing or something in it.
4. Went to a huge graduation for White Station HS
5. Played soccer and dodged mosquitos
6. Had some friends over till around 11:30
7. Drove a few miles at midnight to try and get a friend out of a speeding ticket. It almost worked. Almost doesn’t count.
8. I am pumped about Gary’s day at Ridge Stone.
9. My mind is filled with thoughts of the future, Freedom Church, and my own personal relationship with God.
10. I have been awake for 23 hours, can’t fall asleep, and I am not tired.
11. Where is the Nyquil?
Man purse
It is Saturday and my mind is racing…
1. Running this morning in Devin’s parents neighborhood was ridiculous. Hills = hatred when your feet are your primary mode of transportation.
2. Where are we going to land when it comes to an office complex? How are we going to pay for it?
3. Is my house going to sell this time since it is under contract….again.
4. The vision God has given us is HUGE…Is God really allowing us to do this?
5. I feel like the most unlikely candidate to lead the caliber of guys that make up the team of Freedom Church.
6. Dead bugs get the final revenge on your car by refusing to ever come off.
7. I am praying for Tadd and the launch of Pine Ridge Church in the next few months.
8. I am pumped that Gary and Ridge Stone are passionate about reaching people in my hometown of Canton, GA.
9. I am excited about flying back to Memphis to go to LifeChurch in Germantown.
10. I think the laptop bags that look like man purses are the opposite of cool.
DUI
Just saw that some guy in GA got arrested for driving drunk….while on his lawnmower. He said he was thirsty so he got on his lawnmower and drove on the wrong side of the road to the convenience store. Apparantly a DUI can happen no matter what kind of motor vehicle you are driving…
In other news:
Had a meeting in Blue Ridge today with Renny Ryder from Crossover Community Church. He is a great guy and doing a great job.
Looked for office space for 6 hours. We found some good options but now we will need around $1500 a month to pay for it.
Helped Todd and Joni move their stuff into a storage place. The Uhaul place was interesting to say the least. It truly can’t be explained - only experienced.
No commentsVision
A lot of people have asked us about the dream and vision of Freedom Church. We believe that God has given us a huge vsion to reach the community of Acworth, GA and we can’t wait to jump on board with God’s plan of redemptiion for this great community.
One of the biggest things that we are trying to communicate to our staff and our people is that Freedom Church has nothing to prove but Someone to please. Success for us is determined by our level of obedience to all that God has called us to accomplish. Nothing more - nothing less. God cares more about this community than we do. He wants us to make a larger impact than we could ever dream possible.
I want in on that! I want in on God’s plan! I want in on all that God has to offer! The journey will be incredible!
