Friday, we went to meet with Shawn Lovejoy just to sit in his office and learn. He knows church planting and has an incredible heart to reach people. We had a great time just asking questions and hearing his heart about the vision of MLC. His prayer for us as we left went something like this…”God, bring Freedom Church lesbians, businessmen who love golf and other people’s wives”, etc., etc. I loved that! We want to be the church where the “sinners” go.
Last night, we went back to MLC to check out one of their worship services. Very creative as they had a 5 minute cooking show live on their stage to introduce the message. The message was great and very on target for the moms and moms to be.
After it was over, Shawn invited us into their critiquing session to get ready for Sunday. They analyzed every aspect of the service in order to make it better. They were brutally honest with each other and walked away with a better plan for Sunday. Thank you Shawn, Chad, both David’s, and Casey. You guys are awesome!
1 commentStaff Meeting!
Today we have our first official staff meeting for Freedom Church. Such a crazy thought that things are finally coming together.
Mike Linch at NorthStar has hooked us up by allowing us to use their offices today. They are in the process of transitioning from one office complex to another. As a result, they are going to give us their phone systems and all the office chairs we can handle. Once we can find some office space to put these things in - we will be in business ![]()
I just met Mike yesterday and he is the man. I look forward to getting to know him and the staff at NorthStar better in the days ahead. They are doing an incredible job impacting the community and we are going to have a blast learning from these guys.

The housing search has ended! We finally found something we both like, it’s in a great neighborhood, and we will even be able to pay for the thing.
Now we need the other house to sell so that the contract will go through and we don’t have to start this process all over again. We have two showings today. One is around 530 CT and it is a second showing for a family in the area. If you have about 4 extra seconds around that time - pray that those people love the house, buy the house, and decide that they love it so much that they will give me twice what I am asking ![]()
The search continues…
We have been looking at houses almost nonstop the past couple days. After what has seemed like an endless process we have narrowed the list down to two.
The two are completely different which makes the decision a little more interesting, but we should be able to finalize something today.
Now, I need our other house to SELL! If you know anyone looking for a house in the Mid-South - send them my way!

I can’t resist. Since Tadd is always finding the time to hate on the Blue Devils - I figured that it would be a great idea to post this for the world to see.
I don’t usually argue because the numbers speak for themselves. Let’s go Duke! So Tadd and all the other Duke haters out there - this post’s for you!

Rumor has it that bloglines is making life difficult for jrlive.net. If you are having trouble just unsubscribe from the old feed and resubscribe here.
That should fix the problem. Gracias.

God is working!
Perry saw over 150 people saved at Newspring.
Gary had $10,000 worth of lighting equipment scatter across a busy interstate. Most of them still worked, no one died in the process, they pulled off another great service, and lives were changed.
Many people across the world walked into their particular church on their way to hell and walked out on their way to heaven…
God is working. Get in on what He is doing! It is the most exciting journey imaginable.

Flat out loved Ridge Stone today! It was awesome to see the theater packed with people who are willing to fight for the vision that Gary and the staff has laid out for the church.
These guys don’t apologize for being crazy about Jesus, Canton, RidgeStone, and those who disconnected from God. They bleed passion for telling others about Christ. They have a “noise to make” and they are making it loud and clear!
Canton, GA is my home town. I went to and graduated from Cherokee HS back in the day. As a result, I am even more pumped that Gary has made it his passion and the passion of Ridge Stone to make it hard for people to go to hell from Canton, GA.
Great job guys! Keep making noise!

Todd, Joni, Heather, Justin, Dawn, Devin and I are all off to Ridge Stone Church tomorrow morning. I am pumped because this will be the first time there for Todd, Joni, and Devin.
They hear us talk about Gary all the time, but now they will experience him firsthand. Can’t wait!
