2 quick facts…
Just got off a GREAT conference call with some guys that I am excited to even have the opportunity to know. More to come on that in the next couple days, but I am going to learn a ton from the guys I just spoke with today!
I did not even think that this was possible at this stage in the game but Jrlive.net just got it’s 16,000th hit - this month. I know some of my other blogging friends probably have that every couple days, but I was pretty convinced this blog was only going to be read by my mom…
1 commentYet another list…
Couple of thoughts running through the mind…
1. I hate mice with a passion.
2. The more I learn - the more I realize I don’t know.
3. I remember a day when I thought I knew it all - and I was willing to tell anyone who would listen, why I was right.
4. I hate myself for ever being that way.
5. I am going to try my best to get out to Burlington, NC for the launch of Pine Ridge Church coming up in a few months. Tadd is going to knock it out of the park.
6. The staff of Freedom Church is awesome and encourages and challenges me every single day.
7. I just saw a very large spider!
8. I am way more excited about Sammy Sosa’s 600th home run than I will ever be for ANY home run hit by Barry Bonds.

This morning I was in the attic getting the last few things down to the garage… Devin had already seen a mouse and refused to go back upstairs.
I decided to be a wonderful person and get it all for her. While moving a box the mouse made another appearance within about 9 inches of my feet.
I jumped about 13 feet in the air and almost fell through the ceiling. I survived, the mouse did as well, and so did the ceiling. All is well!
No commentsFreedom what?
Jon, our Digital Arts Pastor, told me a crazy story last night. He said that a guy had emailed him with a few questions about Freedom Church. That isn’t all that weird, but the back story is what makes it a little more memorable…
This guy doesn’t go to church and really doesn’t have any interest in doing so. He said that he was at a grocery store and overheard some people talking about this “new church that was coming to town” called Freedom.
He googled the name, found the website, my blog, and the links to some of the other guys. He decided to email Jon, because “he didn’t want to bother the Lead Pastor” (dude, I am not sure who you are, but if you read this thing –”bother” me any time). He told him that he couldn’t believe the buzz about a church that wasn’t even off the ground.
As a result, he want’s to come and check out what all the excitement is about.
Gotta love that!
No commentsGreat day
We officially moved into our new offices today! I wasn’t there to see it, but I am pumped to know that they will be ready when I get there!
I also had a great conversation today with a guy from a great church in NC that I will be talking more about very soon. I am extremely excited about the things that God has already been orchestating behind the scenes.
Many great things are happening! I can’t wait to see what is just around the corner!
No commentsGod?
There are a countless number of ideas about God. You name it and people have thought it. With that in mind, Evan Almighty is generating some buzz about peoples concept of God.
It’s a good idea to stay current about what people think, the misconceptions, the ideas, the truth, the lies, etc., etc.
Just read an interesting article from MTV here. Check it out.
2 commentsOffice Space!
Well it is official! As I sit in the coffee shop again today, I have just received word that we have landed a real deal office complex effective tomorrow morning.
We thought we were going to have to lease a building and use cubicles for everyone, but this complex will allow us to each have our own seperate offices. This is HUGE for us as 5 guys meeting in coffee shops all day can get pretty annoying. A HUGE thank you goes out to Steve and Lori Cannon who made this thing possible.
I owe you big!
5 commentsLife Church
We went out to Life Church again yesterday for Fathers Day. Everytime we go there, we leave extremely impressed with their people, staff, and the excellence with which they do the things they do.
Lexi and London have been there twice and LOVE it! Lexi has been telling everyone about the church and she is 5. When we walked through the doors, their leaders both came up and knew them by name. Our girls were so excited to see them, grabbed their hand, and went off to their different areas.
As we were walking out yesterday, some ladies were handing out Root Beer Floats, a big bag of beef jerkey, and another bag of sunflower seeds to every guy for Fathers Day. That beats the heck out of a bookmark or a pen. Thank you Life Church! I can’t wait to meet with some of you guys this week…
No commentsExtremely Incredible People
Craig, Teri, Maddi, and Kelsianne Regan are today’s featured extremely incredible people. This family is unbelievable.
They moved with us from SC to help get the student ministry off the ground - and now - they have officially moved to Georgia to help launch Freedom Church!
This family has invested in our family as much as anyone. Teri, Maddi and Kelsianne have watched Lexi and London at least 435,654 times and they actually get mad if we attempt to pay them.
Craig is a chef that should really open up his own restaurant. Eating dinner at the Regans house is unlike anything you have ever experienced.
If Craig were on Hells Kitchen, Gordon Ramsey would have to work for him!
Thank you Regans for everything! I can’t imagine doing this without all of you. The journey continues!
No commentsBigFoot
One of my favorite things about downtown Memphis is BigFoot Lodge. You have not been downtown until you have eaten at BigFoot.
The people are cool, the food is incredible, the prices are great, and the atmosphere is a lot of fun. You can’t go wrong with the Barbecue Nachos and the Skillet Peach Cobbler for dessert. It is amazing!
When you go, find Shawn Danko. He is the owner and a really cool guy (and the best name memorizer on the planet). Tell him J.R. sent you.
Shawn, you are the man! Thanks for everything and remember what I told you about Atlanta!
