Jet Ski

July 21st, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

A bunch of guys and I are heading out to the lake in a few hours for another round on the jet skii’s.

It is the first sunny day with no threat of rain we have had in the past 3 weeks. Should provide for some interesting stories in the next day or so. I just hope we all come back in one piece.

Youtube

Today was a pretty eventful day.

While everything else was happening it also happened to be my birthday. We went to Ted’s tonight with my family, where my mom actually said the words “The wedge salad is Da Bomb”. It still makes me laugh just thinking about it.

Got home tonight and found three videos on Youtube and Facebook from some of my favorite people on the planet. David, Jesse, Ashlin, Kelsey, and Karlie…you are awesome! I love you guys (and girls).

Today’s Happenings

July 19th, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

Lot’s happening today!

We met with Steve Cannon, the guy who is giving us a great deal on our office space. He is a cool guy to hang out with and even cooler for letting us invade the offices.

We also met with Mike Linch from NorthStar. Mike has become a great friend to me and to Freedom Church. He and his staff are doing some great things! I am pumped to be able to learn from guys like Mike… Thanks dude. You are a huge encouragement to me!

Be praying about two possible changes that may be taking place. Not going to talk about them as of yet - but both of them could really help us and propel us in the direction we need to go.

Jail time

July 19th, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

The launch team meeting went very well last night. I love being able to see people’s eyes light up when you begin talking about the possibilities. People are really “getting it” even though I spent a good amount of time letting people know straight up that this might not be the church for them… Excitement is building!

This is going to be an incredible journey!

Random fact of the night… One of the people who hung out with us last night had to be picked up from jail just 5-6 hours earlier.

Computer Guru

July 18th, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

This morning my computer would not work. As my anger intensified, I pressed my favorite three buttons….Ctrl, Alt, Delete.

That didn’t work. Just before I threw the computer across the room, I turned it off and back on. It was at this moment that the resurrection took place. The computer is alive and well! Anger went away and all is well in the world.

Just found out that my neighborhood is having a dog show!

I have never heard of that in my entire life, but I bet it will be hilarious. Hopefully, Einstein (my golden retreiver) won’t eat the other dogs in the contest. That wouldn’t be a good way to make a good first impression.

I also don’t want any Lady and the Tramp action happening. A sad dog staring out the window all the time - would drive me insane.

If you are in the area - come check it out. We won’t be long and we won’t be boring! Childcare is provided…

Swimming

July 17th, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

It is 6AM and we are about to go swimming. Trying to switch up the cardio routine every once in a while.

I am pretty sure my neighbors think we are on crack every once in a while.

Meetings

July 16th, 2007 | Category: Uncategorized

Couple good meetings today…

Later, we are meeting with Tommy Allegood, the mayor of Acworth to discuss some ways that we can partner with this great community. I am excited about the opportunity to see some great things happen in this area!

This morning, we met with Michael Lucaszewski and Anthony Gratto, from Oak Leaf Church in Cartersville. We had a blast hanging out at Moe’s and we were able to learn a ton from these two guys. I appreciate their honesty and willingness to share what they did right and what they would do differently. They are cool guys who I am looking foward to getting to know a little better in the days ahead.

They are kicking butt in Cartersville and God is doing some incredible things at Oak Leaf. Check them out here.
