I have had an internet filter on my computer for the past couple of years. Here’s why…

There are a LOT of crazy sites out there and I am just one click away. Well I WAS one click away.  Now it would be way more difficult and whole lot more awkward (all computer activity gets sent to an accountability partner) if I ever chose to look at something stupid. 

There are a few people who are not the biggest fans of Freedom Church and/or J.R. Lee.  Once something is written - as much as I don’t want to - I tend to go back to their blog to see what was said.  With Safe Eyes, I can “ban” access to their site and I couldn’t read it even if I wanted to. 

I want to protect myself - from myself.  Sometimes I am my own greatest enemy.  As a result, I safeguard as many things as possible. Do you use anything like this?  If so, which program do you use?

The series we are in the middle of right now is resonating with a lot of people.  Regret, insecurity, and fear seem to have become a normal part of everyday life. 

It doesn’t have to be that way!  The junk from your past can be forgiven, covered, and never brought up again.  That is great news given to us as a result of Christ. 

When it feels like God would/could never use you - keep moving forward!  Never forget that past failure doesn’t determine your destiny!

1. Newcomers Lunch was great today!  Over 30 people again…
2. A random guy showed up today with a guitar and asked to play….We said no.
3. Three guys showed up after hearing about Freedom from a guy in a bar in Marietta.
4. I just realized I did one of these lists on Saturday as well.
5. Today is going to be a BUSY day.  Much to get done. 

1. Newcomers Lunch tomorrow!  This is one of my favorite events. 
2. I spoke at a friends church in Duncan, SC last night.  Had a lot of fun hanging out while I was there and with the drive back with the road crew.  Much fun…
3. We have 17 people from my neighborhood that are fully engaged at Freedom Church.  We have the coolest neighbors on the planet!
4. I have a friend that wears a robe during weddings.  That is funny.
5. Rumor has it that our softball team is still undefeated.  Looks like we are making quite an entrance.
6. This next 10 weeks are going to be incredible! 
7. Continuum will be life changing for a LOT of people - and no we aren’t doing a bunch of John Mayer songs…
8. We are doing an illustration for a message coming up in a month - that already has me terrified :) 

Had a blast speaking the past few days for Spiritual Emphasis Week at North Cobb Christian.  Blake and the band are doing a concert there this morning to close out the week.  It’s going to be a lot of fun! 

Special thanks to Megan for allowing us to crash the party and hang out this week.  It’s a great school and God is doing some cool things with the student body. 

I am not sure who needs to hear this today, but I believe that people need to know that someone is cheering them on!
I know that this can be a blindspot if I am not careful, but I really believe the best about almost everyone that I meet. 

I believe in change, progress, and a God who can take the most desperate person and breathe new life into their existence.  I believe God can use the most ordinary person to accomplish extraordinary things. I believe in a God who can overcome your regret, insecurity, and fear of the future. 

I guess what I am trying to say - I believe in you…

People are at all stages of the journey at Freedom…

One guy and girl (mid-40’s) are getting married - because she accepted Christ - and they know living together isn’t right…
One family cancelled their subscription to a particular magazine because they wanted to stop “the porn thing”…
Another family accepted Christ and now the guy will do quite a bit of traveling with me on his off days…

I could go on and on with stories like this, and others, that haven’t made it to this point as of yet. The journey continues…

Today has been a day of meetings! 

I spoke at a school this morning, creative team meeting after that, and then had a GREAT meeting with a friend of mine planting a church just outside of Cincinatti. 

I feel like blogging has been a little forced the past several days - look forward to jumping back in tomorrow. 

 

This Sunday we will kick off a 3 week series called Continuum.

Week 1 - Regretting your past
Week 2 - Insecure about the present
Week 3 - Fear of the future

These issues will cause paralysis in our lives if we put them on the back burner and refuse to deal.  It’s time we advance forward and push through all the junk that keeps us stalled out - helpless as opportunities continue to pass us by.  Can’t wait til Sunday!

1.  Great day today, but I am glad the marriage series is finished.  Today was intense!
2.  We changed up just about everything (stage, kids rooms, etc.) - Loved it!
3.  This was the back end of spring break and we were just barely below our Easter numbers!
4.  Looking forward to speaking at NCC and a friends church in South Carolina this week.
5.  I think 14 people gave me fishing tips today…I will be sure to use them next year when I do it again
